Kay Doost
Frances Kay Doost received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Connecticut. Teaching and education have always been her passion and pursuit. She has taught at virtually all levels. She began in a middle school, then taught and served as principal of an elementary school, and taught in high school and college. She came to Greensboro, NC in 1992, after serving a year in the Peace Corps in the Central Pacific country of Kiribati. She was unable to complete a two-year tour for medical reasons. In Greensboro, she joined the Education Studies Department at Guilford College. Now retired, she continues to teach reading part-time in a local public school. She is involved with many community organizations, including: Friends of the Poor People’s Organization; the Beloved Community, particularly for work with Greensboro’s homeless; the White Caucus, an anti-racist group which grew out of the Partnership Project; the Peace and Justice Network, as well as The Partnership Project.
