Patricia Chamings

Patricia A. Chamings is a retired Professor of Nursing and former Dean of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) School of Nursing. She taught both undergraduate and graduate students in nursing. Dr. Chamings completed her diploma in nursing at the Orange Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing at the University of Florida and earned her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration at George Peabody College for Teachers (Vanderbilt University). Dr. Chamings is also retired from the United States Air Force Reserve Nurse Corps (Colonel). She serves, or has served, on several local, state and national boards including Sigma Theta Tau International, North Carolina Commission for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services, North Carolina Board of Nursing, HealthServe Ministry, American Association for the History of Nursing, and the Moses Cone/Wesley Long Community Health Foundation. Since her retirement, she has enjoyed the opportunity to travel extensively.
